Medical Care

We provide primary care, family medicine, appointment-based walk-in care, virtual physician visits, lab services, and referrals from our downtown Toronto clinics. New patients are welcome, and you do not need a referral to book a primary-care appointment. You may also book with us if you already have a family doctor elsewhere.

You cannot walk in and wait to see a doctor. All our services are appointment based.

Primary and family medicine

Our family physicians provide care for patients of all ages, including ongoing treatment, everyday medical concerns, long-term care, and preventative health needs. Depending on your needs, we can provide:

• Routine primary-care assessments
• Preventative health checks
• Personalized care plans and follow-ups
• Prescription renewals
• Specialist referrals, both within Integra and externally
• Sexual health services
• Blood work, vaccines, flu shots, and other lab services when ordered by an Integra physician
• Care for non-life-threatening concerns that need prompt attention

Our broader care team includes rehabilitation, wellness, and mental-health providers. Those services are documented separately from Medical Care.

Appointment-based walk-in care

Our walk-in clinic is by appointment only. We do not accept unscheduled walk-in patients, including for same-day care. Same-day appointments may be available for urgent, non-life-threatening concerns until the available appointment spots are filled.

Walk-in physicians can assess short-term urgent issues and, when medically appropriate, order tests or send referrals. A walk-in visit can be useful if you do not have a family doctor or cannot see your regular doctor. Walk-in appointments are generally scheduled for 10 minutes and are limited to one issue per visit.

Examples of concerns that may be appropriate for primary care or an appointment-based walk-in visit include:

• Minor infections
• Sprains and similar minor injuries
• Rashes
• Prescription-refill requests
• Other short-term, non-life-threatening medical concerns

Imaging requisitions (no on-site imaging)

We do not perform diagnostic imaging on-site.

If you need imaging, our physicians can provide a requisition for imaging during an appointment. You can then take that requisition to an imaging centre.

Lab services

We provide blood work, vaccines, flu shots, and other lab services.

Lab services require a requisition from an Integra physician. We accept requisitions from our own physicians only, and we do not accept lab requisitions from external physicians. Lab appointments are not accepted on an unscheduled walk-in basis.

Virtual medical appointments

We provide virtual physician appointments through TELUS Health’s secure video platform. You receive the video link and joining instructions by email; no additional software download is required.

Virtual appointments are available only when the eligibility requirements are met:

• You are rostered to a family physician at Integra.
• If you are not rostered to an Integra family physician, you must have seen the same Integra physician in person within the last 24 months for a virtual follow-up.
• New patients must book an in-person appointment before becoming eligible for virtual care.

Some concerns require an in-person assessment and should not be booked virtually. These include pregnancy check-ups, possible fractures or sprains, forms requiring a physical examination, sexual-health concerns, diabetes, irregularities such as blood in the stool or urine, and ear, nose, and throat concerns.

Booking and visit requirements

All medical appointments, including walk-in clinic appointments and same-day appointments, must be booked in advance. You can book online, email appointments@integrahealthcentre.com, or call 416-777-9355. Please only email or call us if you have issues with the online booking platform. Our online schedule has the most up-to-date availability.

Please arrive 10 minutes early with your valid physical OHIP card for an in-person visit. A standard medical appointment is 10 minutes and covers one issue. OHIP permits one medical appointment per day. If you need to discuss multiple concerns, book a separate appointment.

Walk-in clinic visits and most family medicine services are covered by OHIP. Certain administrative or medical services are not covered and require payment. An expired or canceled health card may also result in an out-of-pocket charge. We accept out-of-province health cards except Quebec health cards; Quebec health-card holders must pay out of pocket.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. A same-day cancellation fee is $50 for a standard appointment and $90 for an extended appointment. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may result in the physician being unable to see you and may incur the applicable missed-appointment fee. The listed uninsured-service fees are $130 for a standard visit and $250 for an extended visit or physical examination.
